The focus of my work is to help individuals to build their self-esteem, and to develop a learning strategy that uses their individual areas of strength to support areas they find more challenging.

I assess and tutor individuals of all ages with maths difficulties.

I assess school-age learners with literacy difficulties.

Assessing

Dyscalculia and dyslexia can only be formally identified with a full diagnostic assessment. This can be carried out by either an Educational Psychologist or an appropriately qualified specialist teacher such as myself. Such an assessment will last the lifetime of the individual.

Consulting

I can provide a bespoke package for your school, so that you can best support your dyslexic and dyscalculic students. Please call me to discuss your individual needs.

I can provide informative and practical training for teachers on how to identify specific learning difficulties within the classroom, the difficulties that such students encounter and how to implement up-to-date evidence-based strategies to support students.

Reviews

I have known Jet since 2016. When I was in Year 6, teachers at my school had predicted that I would be unable to pass my SATS due to having dyslexia. However, I was very fortunate to have come into contact with Jet. In a short amount of time, she successfully helped me to overcome my reading and writing difficulties. As a result of the work we did together, I was able to surpass expectations and pass the exams.

A very perceptive and insightful person, Jet adapts courses in order to suit individual needs and thus maintains a student’s interest and focus. I am always astonished at how she not only helps you to achieve the required targets, but she also has the ability to help you attain goals that you would not have set yourself, especially those that had once seemed out of reach.

Jet is a very understanding and professional teacher. For as long as I have known her, she has consistently attended courses to deepen her knowledge; she is thoroughly committed to continued professional development.

I find Jet an exceptionally kind, compassionate and empathetic person; this is clearly shown in my current maths lessons with her. She is a teacher who is able to help you develop a positive mindset, particularly in subjects you mind most challenging. She is a very versatile and eclectic teacher.

The way Jet assesses a person’s dyslexia and other learning challenges is refreshingly positive and encouraging. One of the main reasons I would always recommend working with Jet, is as a result of her immaculate teaching skills. Moreover, Jet is never belittling; she is constantly patient and flexible. She is able to perceive the unique talents and intelligence within each individual and equips you with the confidence to go forward and learn new things.

Sophie, year 10
